Spiritual Protection for Healers and Massage Therapist

QUESTION: As a massage therapist, as my client releases "stuff" from their cellular memory, am I then taking it up in my energetic field? Can I protect and ground myself just by setting that intention before I massage??

ANSWER: Each one of us carries cellular memory that is stored within the tissues of our body. Massage Therapist provide a wonderful service to humanity to help with this release. As with any other healing modality, it is important for the practitioner to clear the space before and after sessions and to shield themselves. Each morning before you start your day state a prayer of intention and do a grounding exercise placing yourself in a golden column of light. 

Here is the grounding exercise:

This is a grounding exercise many healers use before and after they do energy/spiritual work. It is the one I recommend because it grounds us not only to the Earth but also grounds us into our spiritual dimensions.

1. Stand with your hands by your side. State your intention: (example)

"I command to access a grounding energy from below the Earth and from above to the Creator of All That Is to surround, ground and protect me in the present moment and for the rest of the day. Thank you, It is done. Its is done. It is done." 

2. Bring your attention to the Earth. Take a large breath in and as you breathe visualize a golden energy traveling up from the Earth into your feet and through your body up to your heart. 

3. As you exhale visualize the light from the Earth all the way up to your heart expanding outward all around the bottom portion of your body about arms length distance or beyond.

4. Bring your attention to your Crown Chakra. Take a large breath in and visualize golden energy from the Creator entering into your crown moving down through your body and to your heart mingling with the Earth energies you pulled in earlier. 

5. As you exhale, visualize the light from above expanding outward all around the top portion of your body about arms length distance or beyond.

6. Breathe in one more time and visualize energies from below (Earth) and above (Creator) coming in to your body at the same time and meeting at the heart. 

7. As you exhale, visualize the energies expanding outward all around your entire body about arms length distance or beyond. Observe your self surrounded by a column of golden light from the Earth and from the Creator Of All That Is. You are completely surrounded, aligned, and balanced with the universal energies of Mother/Father God/Goddess.

8. With your arms held by your side visualize roots growing out of your fingers and into the Earth. Bring your attention to your feet. Visualize roots growing out of your feet and into the Earth. 

9. Bring your attention into the present moment. Now state: “Only those energies of the highest Christ Light may enter my field.” You are now grounded and surrounded by a forcefield of loving light. Give thanks. 

Use this visualization before and after your healing sessions. It is also wonderful to use for protection, when you feel fearful, when you feel out of balance, upset or anxiety stricken. Do this exercise everyday to replenish your shield of light and to help you feel grounded.

Also before and after you do every session you will need to clear the space of any energies that may have accumulated. I would start each morning and end each day by sageing the space. Use a sage stick and go around the room ~ especially in the corners where energy accumulates. State: “All negativity must leave this space with divine love and grace put in its place,” as you sage the room. In between sessions, if the sage is too smelly for your clients you could state your intention and use bells, incense or an essential oil spray to clear the space. You can also place a bowl of salt at the foot of the massage table to absorb negative energies. 

In addition, use your guides! Every healer is designated a team of spiritual healers that works with them. Invite your team of the highest Light guides and angels to work with you in the healing sessions, as well as, to help you with your own spirtual protection and while you clear the space.

At the end of each session I also suggest you do an ENERGY BREAK:

Energy Break:

An energy break is used by healers to break free from the energetic influence such as negative feelings, emotions or other vibrations they may have picked up from their clients or someone else.

Starting with both hands in prayer at the heart, twist them ~palms together, so the right hand is closet to the heart with the fingers pointing to the left. The left hand is flat against the right hand with the fingers pointing to the right. Both palms are together with the left hand in front and the right hand closet to the heart, sideways with fingers horizontal.

Leave your right hand where it is and push your left hand out (still in horizontal position) about arms length and you are going to break all energy streamers by using a chopping motion moving your hand up and down slicing through the energy over every chakra. All the way up to the crown and down to the root. Do this "cutting" motion three times.

This will push the other persons energy away from you and cut any energetic cords that may have been created. Now you will want to do the next technique to align your polarity and "zip up" your auric field

Zip Up Exercise:

Starting at the root chakra imagine you are zipping up your auric field all the way up to the Crown about 5 inches from your body. Repeat this three times.

Cleansing Breath Meditation

Cleansing Breath Meditation

I learned this meditation when I attended my first Reiki class. My teacher told us if we applied the techniques learned in the class, and did not put them on a library shelf we would heal ourselves and our spiritual path would be greatly accelerated. I went home and practiced the techniques everyday....and I still use them in my life now.

This is one of the most powerful exercises she taught us. It is called Hatsu Rei-Ho in Japanese ~ which means to cleanse the mind with your breath ~ or Cleansing Breath. This exercise will accelerate everything. It is also a wonderful cleansing exercise after you have been in a crowded space or just feel like you need to bring additional life force energy into your being. If you are already attuned to Reiki this exercise will greatly enhance your Reiki channel.

1. Sit comfortably with spine straight.
2. Place your tongue on the roof of your mouth behind your two front teeth.
3. Place your hands on your lap palms facing upwards. If you have high blood pressure or heart issues, place your hands down on your lap.
4. Focus your attention on a white ball of light above your head.
5. Calmly breathe in through your nose. As you breathe in, visualize white light from above your head entering your crown chakra, moving down the spine to the Tanden area (just below the belly button ~ sacral chakra area). Hold it for a few seconds.
6. As you hold your breath, visualize the light from the tanden spreading throughout your body. Your body is full of white light.
7. As you exhale, visualize the white light in every cell of your body pushing and emanating out through the skin into your energy fields and out into infinity all around your body
8. Repeat for 2-3 minutes or as long as you like. Breathe the light inside your body and exhale it outside your body.

This exercise will cleanse and expand your being. This is an internal and external exercise. The energy moves in through your being vertically and expands out from your being horizontally. This is a powerful technique that brings a great deal of positive light filled energy into your body ~ I do this for several minutes before my meditations. It clears the mind and prepares your entire energetic system to reach a deeper level of consciousness. ♥ Sabrina

HEALING THROUGH REIKI

Reiki literally means “Spiritually Guided Life Force Energy”. It is YOUR Spirit and God who determines how much energy will flow through your system during a Reiki treatment. The healer does not use their energy. The healer is attuned, balanced and their energetic system is strengthened to allow concentrated levels of the Universal Life Force Energy to flow through them. Healing is a three-way agreement between You, God and the Healer. From the healer’s standpoint, our main job is to ignite the “inner healer” within you. Your inner healer is the source of higher consciousness that governs all systems within your body. It regulates breathing, keeps your heart beating and blood flowing without you consciously having to direct or be aware of it. Your inner healer is all-powerful and has the potential to heal anything within your system that needs assistance.

As each of us go through painful experiences in our life we automatically try not to feel the pain. At a very young age we were taught not to cry and not to express our emotions or feelings. This was considered inappropriate behavior and instead of allowing our natural feelings and emotions to rise to the surface, so we could release them, we stuffed them in the depths of our subconscious mind or energy field blocking our inner healer. These “frozen” moments of pain remain in our energy field if we do not allow them to fully be felt and expressed. All of these “frozen” moments create disharmony by blocking the natural flow of our inner healers healing energies. Without realizing it, we create our own illness and dis-ease through our own unprocessed emotions, feelings and negative thoughts. As Deepak Chopra says, “Our bodies are the battleground for the wars we rage in our “mind”. Your mind exist not only in the brain but also throughout your entire energetic and physical being. Your mind is your complete human computer system. It is the body, as well as, your aura that extends 2-3 feet around your body. Therefore, negative thoughts, feelings and emotions are not just in the brain. They also collect in the various locations throughout the body and aura. The places where negative thoughts and feelings collect is where energy is restricted in flow, therefore, negatively affecting the physical organs that exist at these locations. If the negative thoughts, feelings and emotions are not eliminated quickly we create dis-ease and illness.


All illness whether it be a cold, pain, depression, anxiety, cancer or addiction is created because there is an energetic imbalance or distortion in the human energy field. If this imbalance or block is not released it will work its way through the many layers of the energetic field and make its way to the physical body creating a symptom or pain. Once it has made its way to the physical body; doctors, surgeons and pharmaceuticals are absolutely necessary. Unfortunately, these methods only treat the “effect” of the energy distortion and never get to the root cause of the illness. Oftentimes, this leads to additional surgeries and a lifetime dependency on medicine.

Modern medicine is just now beginning to acknowledge that humans are both energetic and physical beings. Many hospitals are beginning to incorporate Reiki practitioners in their medical practice. In fact, Dr. Oz, who is frequently on the Oprah Winfrey Show, uses two Reiki practitioners in the operating room while he performs open heart surgeries. He understands, during an operation, patients loose vital life force energy. By having Reiki practitioners “charge up” the patients energy field during an operation their pain will be reduced and they will have a quicker healing response. Instead of a depleted energy field, they leave the operating room with higher levels of life force energy greatly assisting the patient’s ability to fully recover.

Reiki works on all levels of your being: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Reiki is a full spectrum healing modality treating both the “cause” and the “effect” of the energetic imbalance. During each Reiki session your entire energetic and physical system is charged up with a high level of Universal Life Force Energy. Universal Life Force Energy is the energy that animates all living things. When our life force energy is high we are energetic, healthy, creative and vibrant. When our life force energy is low we are more susceptible to illness and we feel depleted, depressed, unhealthy and exhausted. Naturally, as we age, our life force energy begins to fade. In addition, our life style choices also affect our supply of life force energy. Alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, stress, dehydration, lack of exercise, repetitive negative thoughts/emotions/feelings, fear, unhealthy relationships and poor choices in our food all affect our life force energy. Our life force energy is vital to our health and well-being.

Spontaneous healings and miracles can occur in one Reiki session; however, multiple sessions are usually required. During a Reiki session, a high level of universal life force energy moves through your system breaking up and dissolving old traumas, blocks, negative energy, unprocessed emotions and stored pain. As we eliminate each imbalance in your system, your supply of life force energy will be increased, therefore, assisting you with your own healing. Your inner healer will be activated through the removal of energetic blocks and negative frequencies assisting your body to become stronger and more able to use its own inner wisdom to fight off disease. Once balance is achieved, your moods and behaviors will improve, your sense of self and self-esteem will return and your innate self-organizing principle in your body will be activated.

You are the motivating force in your healing. It is your personal power and determination that will bring you back into an optimum state of well-being. The only person who can create change within you is YOU! Sincere desire to heal, personal responsibility, self-reflection and opening yourself up to change will create the transformation you desire. In addition to continued Reiki treatments, visualization, prayer, meditation and affirmations are also powerful tools to assist you on your healing path.

Aside from a Reiki healing session, I also highly recommend people attend a Reiki Level 1 Class to become attuned to Reiki. The attunement is a spiritual initiation that will open your energetic system to channel higher levels of life force energy ~ so you can become your own healer. Reiki is a healing modality but it is also an enlightenment system that connects you in a more profound way to your higher self. Reiki is the quickest and easiest way to enhance and strengthen your personal level of Life Force Energy, clear out blocks and karmic miasims in your chakras. For me, Reiki was like spiritual DRANO. The Reiki light/love moved through my energetic system dissolving and softening the stubborn blocks within my being. After you take a class, IF you apply the teachings, commit yourself to daily self healings, meditate and commit yourself to your the spiritual practice of Reiki ~ your spiritual path will be greatly accelerated.

Reiki Classes

The Reiki Usui System is easy to learn and can be learned by anyone regardless of their age or religious preference. Reiki is not affiliated with any religion; it is universal and available to everyone. The Reiki System of Natural Healing is taught through a Reiki Master Teacher who initiates the student into higher levels of the Universal Life Force Energy. Once a person is initiated into Reiki their energetic system is balanced and cleared, their vibration is raised and their channel is expanded to increase a more concentrated flow of Reiki energy that will flow through them for the rest of their life. The attunement process is a blissful, beautiful interaction between you and your God self. Divine grace opens your heart assisting you to connect to deeper levels of unconditional love, forgiveness, unity and compassion for yourself and the planet.

Each of us are natural born healers. We all have the Universal Life Force Energy running through our system. Without this energy we would not be alive. When someone is in pain, we instinctively connect with the person by giving them a hug, rubbing them on the back or placing our hands over the affected area. The ability to do healing work is inherent in all of us. It is a normal and natural procedure.

A Reiki class will not give you anything you do not already possess. However, a Reiki class will greatly enhance and strengthen your already innate ability to heal. Three Degrees

Reiki is transmitted to the student in three degrees. Each degree includes an attunement. An attunement is a sacred spiritual initiation that connects the student to higher levels of consciousness and to an unlimited source of healing energy. The attunement enhances the students connection with their higher self, clears karma and negative energy from the energy body and raises the students vibration opening them up to hold more light, Ki, or Universal Life Force energy.

A physical and emotional cleansing and reorganization of the student’s energy will occur. The attunement elicits a healing response on all levels of the students being: Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual. It usually takes between 30-90 days for the student’s energetic and physical bodies to integrate these new higher vibrational energies. Daily self-healing for at least the first month is highly recommended.

Attunement=Initiation=Empowerment

FIRST DEGREE (“I Am in the Light”) is called Shoden. It is the basic course where the student learns self-treatment and how to treat others. This degree will help you learn how to be a clear channel, how to develop a clear mind and develop a compassionate detachment from outcome by releasing control and simply allowing Reiki to happen.

Once attuned, the student will go through a 3-4 week cleansing period where their body adjusts to higher levels of energy. During this period the chakras are cleared, balanced and enlarged. The hara line or central light column is cleared and expanded and the student is able to channel higher levels of  ki. The student goes from a 50-watt light bulb to a 100-watt light bulb.

Includes the history of Reiki, hand placements for self and others, Initiation with 4 attunements and practice time to integrate the energy and gain confidence.

SECOND DEGREE (“The Light is in Me”) is called Okuden. The second level attunement opens the student up even further to channel higher levels of “Spiritually Guided Universal Life Force Energy”. The student is given three sacred symbols as tools to transmit Reiki long distance to a person not physically present and will learn the technique for mental emotional healing.

This attunement focuses on emotional, mental and karmic healing. Old emotions, unhealed former situations, past lives and negative mental patterns resurface to be healed and released. The student will go through a 3-4 week cleansing period.

THIRD DEGREE  (“I Am the Light”) is called Shinpiden and is taught in two segments. The Reiki 3 attunement is a spiritual level healing. It strengthens your connection to God source, joy, compassion and oneness with all life.

Level 1 Master broadens the students channel even further through another attunement and assists in self-mastery and spiritual growth. The Master symbol is given to the student and they are considered a Reiki Master Therapist or Practitioner.
